and will run for 4 weeks. We are gearing up for the No Charge Christmas Store.
WESLEY CENTRE: Once again Wesley Centre is hosting the “No Charge” Christmas store which is open
December 11th to 23rd at Kirkendall – Strathcona, on 210 Napier Street, Hamilton. This year’s White
Gift Sunday is December 7th. Gifts are requested on that day to help with this project. These should
be un-wrapped, taken to the sanctuary, and placed under the Christmas tree. The green flyer distributed
today in the bulletin has a list of suggestions. SCUC volunteers will be looking after the store on
Thursday, December 11th from 8:30am – 4:00pm. Twenty volunteers are needed. Please come warmly dressed
and bring a lunch. Parking uptown is critical, so please try to car-pool as much as possible. Our
donations will be dropped off on Sunday, December 7th and congregational support is needed to load our
vehicles and unpack them at the store. This project is a rewarding experience for all involved. Our
Wesley Centre representative Janet Cumming can be contacted if you would like to help @ 905-573-7695.
Come and make this Christmas a happy time for the less fortunate. Thank you.
In keeping with the direction set forth by the Moderator of the United Church, we are embarking on a new phase in our WrapAround Programme.
Our new, faith based, approach positions us to work with other faith organisations to extend the WrapAround process to a larger community.
In order to distinguish our faith based program from the previous community programme, we have a new name.
Stoney Creek United Church W.R.A.P. It stands for wrapping resources around people. So, although our name has changed, we will still be serving
the disadvantaged families in our community and helping to stop the cycle of poverty.
We are always in need of gently used items. If you can help us, please call Colleen at 905-662-4963 ext 224.
