First erected at the corner of King St and Lake Ave in 1903, Stoney Creek United Church has constantly evolved to meet the changing needs of our church. We are proud of our building and good uses we make of it in serving our congregation and our community.

Accessibility

Along with a central location and convenient access to parking, SCUC provides a fully accessible facility.

Wheelchair Access - is provided by entering through the Atrium doors on Lake Ave. From this entrance there is access to the CE Auditorium. A recently installed chair lift provides access up to the Sanctuary and Chapel as well downstairs to the Fireside room.

Bus Ministry - SCUC runs a shuttle bus service to and from our Sunday service. The shuttle bus runs regularly to seniors homes in the area, but is available for individual pickups. To arrange for a pick up please call the church office, from monday to Thursday, at (905)662-4963.

Hearing impaired - Amplified hearing aids are available prior to Sunday service.

Vision impaired - Large print copies of the hymns are available, from the door greeters, in the weekly service bulletin.

Sanctuary

Our Sunday worship services are held in the beautiful Sanctuary.

With its spacious size, vibrant colour and skyligths, the Sanctuary is a truly striking room. The room also boasts a modern sound system and music from either the grand piano or the full pipe organ.

Chapel

Built in 1904, the original Chapel is filled with character.

From the stained glass windows to the vaulted ceiling the Chapel exudes charm.

Christian Education Auditorium

Built in 1950's the CE Auditorium was commissioned to handle the needs of our growing Sunday School.

The CE Auditorium comprises a gymnasium, a nursery, a library, several break-out rooms, a stage and a full service kitchen. The site of our monthly teen dances, the CE auditorium is also used during TGIW sessions and weekly for our after service coffee hour.

The Auditorium is fully air conditioned and can sit approximately 200 when set up with tables and chairs. For special events it can be licenced for wine service.

Fireside Room

The Fireside Room is a medium sized facility for meetings, events or classes.

The Fireside Room can accommodate approximately 75 people and is wheelchair accessible.

Meeting Rooms

Along with the numerous activity rooms in the CE Auditorium, there are 3 small to medium sized meeting rooms that are available to be booked for church related or outside use.

The capacity of the rooms ranges from approximately 5 to 15 people and booking arrangements can be made through the church office.

Stoney Creek United Church gratefully acknowledges the financial contribution of the Ontario Trillium Foundation to our capital works projects in which electrical and heating systems were upgraded and air conditioning was installed in the CE Auditorium.
