Our Work, Our Passion

Through a recent needs assessment process we identified the ministries about which our congregation is most passionate:

 1.     Outreach
Over the last 10 years, our congregation has become highly recognised for its leadership role in community outreach.  Our outreach efforts are largely focused on local issues including poverty, youth and community support.

 2.     Worship
Sunday worship is a vital element in the life of our congregation. Our success in other areas of our congregational life and personal lives is nurtured by the meaningfulness of our worship services. We enjoy occasional services led by youth and lay leaders and are receptive to different worship styles. Music is also an integral and essential element to our worship. Our worship team is currently exploring the development of an additional, contemporary worship service, which the team hopes will attract new members, particularly in the emerging spirit demographic.

 3.     Pastoral Care
The congregation at SCUC has identified Pastoral Care as a focus area for our ministries. This has led to new efforts and initiatives aimed at embracing seniors, shut ins and visitors.

 4.     Youth
Our congregation is excited by the growth and success of our Youth Time programs. There is a strong sense that the needs of youth members and the youth of the community are being addressed by the Christian Development Team and the Director of Youth Ministry.
